It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for Card Yahtzee, where a role of the dice provides the card recipe. The dice called for an over the top thank you card featuring the neutrals color family, texture, and blending. Just from the thumbnail you can see this isn’t going to feature neutrals. I did use Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends; does that count? Remember, the dice aren’t dictators, and there’s no Yahtzee police to write me a ticket for not following the recipe. It’s not even a Hallmark movie cooking contest where to save the town our heroine must create a winning concoction from 7 obscure ingredients.

This is absolutely the cutest shaker card I’ve ever made. My granddaughter turned 4 today, and I made her a birthday card she can shake, shake, shake. Did you sing that? If you missed the live video, watch the replay and learn how to make a fun new style shaker card. The video is a little longer than normal, but it is so worth it. You will be very pleased with yourself when you create a version of this for yourself.

You can see from the supply list that I used several products. That’s what sends it over the top, out of this world. The penguin designer series paper and glimmer paper are retired. I would be happy to help you find alternates. Just leave a comment or send me a message.

To make this card start with a card base cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. The fold is at the bottom! The clear envelope is folded over and adhered to what is normally the bottom edge of the card front. The card base is adhered shut to hide those edges. I used tear & tape. The DSP is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhered to the card base. I popped my Misty Moonlight layer on dimensionals because I’m not mailing this card and it’s already pretty bulky. The window sheet is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and goes in the envelope. This makes the flap more stable. Add the window sheet, sequins, and any other goodies before you adhere it to the base. I got my instructions from Patty Bennett who shared the tip to tape the clear envelope closed with clear tape, like Scotch tape. She missed that the first time, and when she flipped her card over sequins went flying. If the photos and video don’t tell you everything you need, just leave me a comment and I’ll help you. I’m still new to blogging; any helpful comments are appreciated.

I hope you’ll come back next week for the next edition of Card Yahtzee. Card Yahtzee streams to my Facebook page on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm cst. Next week’s recipe calls for an over the top congratulations card in colors from the In-Colors family with layering and texture.
