That sounds shocking, and I guess it is. But I had good reasons.

  • I love my sister-in-law
  • It’s time consuming to mask the stamp to use 2 colors
  • I can still use them as 1 piece
  • I got the stamp FREE – that’s a low blow

Yes, there are lots of ways to use a single stamp like this with 2 colors. I could have used Stamp ‘n Write Markers. I could have used the Stamparatus. I could have….. I shared some of those in the video to give you ideas and alternatives. I have friends that wouldn’t dream of cutting a stamp.

What does my sister-in-law, Lori, have to do with this? Lori Salchow is an amazing realtor in Carl Junction, Missouri and the surrounding area. She’s also one of the very few people that get me willingly into a physical store. (Can I get a testimony?) Lori’s logo includes a pineapple. I knew when I saw the Sale-A-Bration stampset, Island Vibes that I was going to make notecards for her. As luck would have it, when we were together at Christmas she told me she needed notecards. She wasn’t crazy about what she was finding in the stores. Lori is a crafter but not a stamper, yet.

By cutting up the stamp and designing a couple of options I can give Lori a kit to create her own notes, quickly and beautifully. I’ll start her out with 20 and send them plus the supplies she needs to continue making more. Maybe next Christmas we will get together and build a stash that she can use in 2023.

The YouTube Live

The Options

  • Color each area of the stamp with markers, huff, and stamp
  • Use the stamparatus and mask the single stamp
  • Use the stamparatus with the separate pieces
  • Trim the stamp and use a clear block

In the replay you’ll see all of this real time, even when things don’t go exactly right and I need to regroup. In most of my videos I share options. Today’s video was no different. I created different designs and used different methods. There are so many more choices. I CASEd Mary Knabe – she used multiple shades of yellow and green markers and created a lovely card. My objective was to create a design that could be mass produced with limited supplies, something that would work for a new stamper.
