There are several ways to work with the dies in the Flowering Tulips bundle. In today’s live video I’m teaching you how to work with cardstock and create soft petals. Another day we will look at using designer series paper to create petals with lots of depth and texture.

Last week I promised to show you how to the dies in this bundle work together to create 3 different flowers. Today’s card is a CASE of the catalog. You’ll find the original on page 16 of the January – June 2022 mini catalog.

The YouTube Live

Once I created the petals I built the flowers on a 3 x 4 piece of vellum cardstock. Then I adhered it to the card. The cardbase is Poppy Parade cardstock cut 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5. The DSP is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

In the video I paused to share which dies you need for each flower. I plan to edit the blog to include a photo. That will be easier for you than taking a screen shot. I’m sorry I didn’t think of that sooner.

There were 2 key steps to creating these flowers. The first was sponging the edges with a sponge dauber using the same color ink as cardstock. The second was breaking down the fibers of the cardstock with a bone folder. I could have continued this process even more than I did, and I wish I had done this on the leaves. I may have to repeat this. Let me know your results. After the video ended I decided to add dimensionals to help the flowers hold their shape. I hope the photos will help you determine where to place yours.
