I fell in love with the Sweet Songbirds the minute I saw them. I must be drawn to whimsy. I’ve heard from some of you that they aren’t singing your tune. That’s okay. The new Annual Catalog is FULL of amazing products; we will get to as many of them as we possibly can. Today I’m going to share a technique with a favorite paper that often is overlooked as well as some fun new products.

There’s Always a Story

This isn’t shocking news, but I have a number of projects in various stages of completion in my studio. I’m WAY behind on getting prizes out in the mail to you and my team. Packages are nearly ready to ship and I hope to be caught up by next Monday.

In 2 weeks I’ll be in Utah for a super fun trip that Ronda Wade has organized for the 2022 Incentive Trip achievers. Stampin’ Up! canceled the cruise that we would be on right now. They’ve done an amazing job at pampering us from afar.

I’m really looking forward to the Utah trip. I’m going to meet Patty Jones; Patty replaced me at the job I left last fall. She’s amazing and I can’t wait to meet her face to face. I’m rooming with Cindy Westerink from Michigan. We are going to have the most amazing chill time possible.

AND I need 80 swap cards! That means I’m making 80 of the same card design to trade with the 79 other demonstrators who will be there. So far I have 42 of these cards in the third phase and 40 in the first. It’s an assembly line. But so worth it – I’m coming home with cards from so many talented demonstrators. I’ll be sure and share them in a Facebook or YouTube live after I return.

World wide, 437 demonstrators earned the incentive trip; that’s less than 1%. There are 278 demonstrators trip achievers from the USA. I feel very honored and blessed to be among this group. I can’t thank my customers and team members enough for making this possible.

The Video Broadcast

The card on the left, the one I made during the broadcast started with a leftover watercolor washed layer. Once I reached 80 for my swaps I still had ink on my block to use. I thought it would make a pretty sky background for a red bird. And it does. But I like the white background better. After the video I made the card on the right to share another option. What you can’t see in the photo is the shimmer. I used Shimmery White cardstock on both cards. It’s as if it had a super faint layer of Wink of Stella all over.

Don’t Skim Too Fast

You do not want to miss this offer. How big is your wish list? Is it over $100? I know mine is. Do your colors need a refresh? The new 2022-2024 In Colors are bold, bright, and gorgeous! Stampin’ Up! is offering an amazing deal on the in color products this month.

If you haven’t made a wish list, please take a few minutes to look through the catalogs and create a wishlist. Then highlight your top priority items, but don’t include any of the products pictured below. Now starting with your highest priority products and add up the retail prices; stop when you reach $125. Put a star beside those items.

During the month of May, for $99 plus tax, you can get the items you have a star beside plus everything in the photo below, plus a FREE paper pumpkin kit and other supplies. That’s a value of over $200.

No risk. Call me and let’s talk about the questions you have. I’d love to help you add a little more color in your life. 615.854.0376

Here’s the special I shared in the video. Pick $125 of products (new 2022 catalog or Jan-June Mini) then as a BONUS get all these gorgeous in color products. Awesome!!

The YouTube Live

I didn’t have input from my viewers today, but I’ve had some feedback on the finished project. I believe everyone was thankful for the reminder about Shimmery White cardstock and how it performs when watercoloring. I prefer the Sweet Songbird card with the white background, and the Facebook poll seems to agree. Every technique has its place; this watercolor background is a stunning backdrop for my swap card. Stay tuned for that card and watch the video to learn the technique.
