Today isn’t a Monday, and it hasn’t been horrible. Let’s just say that it introduced a few opportunities that weren’t planned. During the video I struggled a bit with math; that really shouldn’t have happened. And after the video I discovered I not only made the wrong card, I used the wrong products today. I’m not sure when I’ll share my intended projects. Stay tuned for them.

I think I got excited as I spent time on Pinterest and a few demonstrator only sites. I found this card by Paula Barin and decided to CASE very closely to her original. I could visualize the changes I wanted to make; that called for a happy dance. Believe it or not the decision to use our Adhesive Sheets made my design really come together in my vision. You cannot go wrong using adhesive sheets when you are working with delicate or intricate die cuts.

I hope you enjoy today’s video and cards. I’d love to hear your story. Are you like me? I almost always copy the original design very closely before trying another version. Do you see possibilities immediately when you pick up a stampset, bundle, or designer series paper? If you share a bit of your story you might receive some happy mail.

The CASE of Paula’s Card

This is a CASE of a card from Paula. I love the colors of the DSP, especially Pool Party with Poppy Parade. Paula really showcased this gorgeous paper with her card. These are the details for my CASE of her card.

  • Pool Party cardstock 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5
  • Floral pattern DSP 3 x 5.5
  • Green DSP 0.5 x 5.5
  • Poppy Parade cardstock 1.5 x 5.5 for die cutting
  • Basic White scrap for die cutting

Let’s Change It Up

My first thought was to cut the 1″ off the edge of the cardfront in such a way that the die cut wouldn’t be adhered to anything. It would be the edge of the card front and only show against the Pool Party when the card was closed. I realized the flowers would be fragile and easy to tear as the card was opened. I decided to move the die cut to the inside of the card instead. And that’s when I remembered adhesive sheets! I used them on both cards. You can see exactly how to use them in the video. It’s brilliant, and I’m so proud I remembered them.

  • Pool Party cardstock 5.5 x 8.5, scored at 4.25, cut 1″ off card front
  • Floral pattern DSP 3 x 5.5
  • 2 pieces of green DSP 0.5 x 5.5
  • Poppy Parade cardstock 1.5 x 5.5 for die cutting
  • Basic White scrap for die cutting
