In preparation for the installation of our new rector, Father Lloyd Prescott, I was asked to create a special card that would include space for our members to sign and offer gratitude and well wishes. I had recently seen a fun fold single pocket card featuring designer series paper. I was on a mission to figure out how to add more pockets. During a Facebook live a few weeks ago I asked my viewers for input and we did it! We created the perfect fun fold mini album!

The Facebook Live

To make sure that Father Lloyd didn’t find out about this album I’ve waited to post the videos and photos until he received it. Archbishop Foley Beach and Cannon Sean George installed Fr Lloyd during our church service last Sunday so now I can tell you all about my fun fold mini album and the plans I have for more.

The card I CASEd started with a 1/4 piece of cardstock as the card base and a coordinating layer of cardstock cut 5 3/8 x 4 1/8. The DSP was cut 5 1/4 x 12. On the long side the DSP was scored at 4 and 8. The third panel was cut on the diagonal and folded up to create a pocket. Only add glue to straight edge of the pocket.

To create multiple pockets I attached 1 set of DSP panels to the front of a full card base. I created a middle page to the card base by cutting evening evergreen cardstock 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 and scored it at 4 1/4. I adhered that 1/4 tab to the inside of the card. That created 3 cardstock layers/pages to adhere DSP panels. I added strips of cardstock to the non-pocket side of the pages which created bands to hold tags. Some of the measurements were adjusted a little as I went along. It might be painful watching me do that math in the video.

For the album I decided to use the limited edition Ever Eden Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is available until January 3, 2022. You don’t want to miss out on this beautiful paper with multiple shades of green and gold accents. It coordinates with Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, so those were the colors of cardstock I used. I included many stampsets in my greetings; I hope I don’t forget to include any in the supply list. Not all the products are current

The video was twice the length I like to share, but it was wonderful to have comments from my viewers help me make decisions. There were many hands, ideas, and heart involved in this project. This was the perfect fun fold mini album! I’ll turn this design into a photo album for Hazel and River’s photos with Santa. That will be another special gift.

The Installation

This was one of the most emotional services I’ve ever experienced. I love the reverence of our worship. Greg and I found St Michael’s about 2 years ago and fell in love. We knew we were home almost immediately. Join us on Sundays at 10:30 at St Michael’s Anglican Church at 105 Shiloh Rd in Gallatin. I’ve included a couple of pictures below. Fr Lloyd is second from the left.

I would love to hear from you and know what you are creating today. Please drop a comment or email and let me know. hello@michelesalchow.com. If you would like to receive an email with every blog post please complete the form at the bottom of the post.

Stamped Blessings,

Michele
